The guys at the Avis desk were cheerful and directed us to the area to collect our car. Our first car was a Toyota, come what like a Camry, which the rear panel was adrift afteran earlier scrape... Ah, sorry about that, I'll see what else is available.. Next car is a bright purple ( think Cadburys with sunburn) Nissan Q something. Drove to the exit and discover there is already a Warning Light and signal on the dash display, about a System Fault. Car number three is a black Nissan Q Something.
And finally, we awe away. Up the M1, and onto the Lock keepers House. I'm sad that it's dark and we are unable to see the visual instructions left by our BnB host, Brown sign, green house etc.. We did managed to see rabbits and a young deer though. After crossing the flat bridge, going over the humpy bridge, we found it quite easily. Thankfully Mike and Sophie were still up waiting for us to arrive, and showed us to our room.
I can't wait to see this place in the daylight, it's an old stone cottage with walls two feet thick. It's charming, and quaint from what we see at this hour, thick slabs of timber for kitchen benches.. Mike and Sophie were up for a chat, so it was close to midnight when we fell into bed.
